The PD Narrative Project
Dr. Jenny Nelson, blithely going about her business as a media scholar, is struck by Parkinson's disease. Suddenly appearing on her radar a year after her mastectomy, the disease forces Jenny to consider a side of her field she never knew existed. The PD Narrative Project is an ongoing collection of stories about, and by, people with Parkinson's Disease: from the brain scan image at the moment of diagnosis to the scramble for information and creative coping strategies. We produce videos with people who want to share their stories in any form: poems, drawings, essays, dreams and even your latest hallucination. The project is supported by The School of Media Arts & Studies, the Communication & Development Program, and an 1804 grant from Ohio University.
